On May 1, International Workers’ Day, supporters of the Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign gathered in London to join the rally and demonstration.
At the closing rally in Trafalgar Square we distributed this leaflet publicising the Campaign and inviting workers and young people to the organising meeting that evening.
The meeting discussed the situation in Iran following the deal between Iran’s ruling class and the Western Capitalist governments and heard a report from May Day activities in Tehran. We discussed practical steps to build the solidarity movement in Britain and beyond, including motions to union branches to build towards a big public meeting. There will be regular monthly organising meetings open to all starting in June.
