The following is the translation of a brief statement on the Iran National Steel Industrial Group steelworkers’ strike, published on various Telegram channels on January 27th 2024. All production in INSIG has stopped.
The National Steel Group’s workers’ strike continues with strength and unity
We will respond to deception and broken promises on the streets of Ahvaz.
The factory mafioso management is not only unwilling to implement the [job] classification scheme, but despite previous agreements, it is now openly insulting the honourable workers and personnel of the National Group and our families by proposing a payment of 5% instead of 50%.
We have repeatedly shown that we, the National Group’s workers, will not compromise an iota on our rights and interests.
This time, too, after holding a public meeting in the factory area regarding the brazen proposal of the board of directors, we decided to appear on the streets.
Don’t test us, we are molten steel.
