Amin Masouri, a writer and researcher, was released from prison on September 15th, after posting a bail of 500 million tomans ($119,000).
A source close to Mr Masouri’s family told HRANA: “On August 14th this year, intelligence agents arrested Mr Masouri in Khorramabad. After his arrest, he was transferred to one of the security agency’s solitary confinement cells and eventually, after some time, to Ward 3 of Parsilon Prison.”
Among the charges brought against Amin Masouri is “propaganda in favour of groups or organisations opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Mr Masouri, a resident of Khorramabad in Lorestan province, has been arrested a number of times before, including for condemning the Iranian regime’s crackdown on protesters in the autumn of 2022.
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest and continuing harassment of Amin Masouri.
