Amin Masouri, a writer and cultural-political activist, was sentenced by the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Court to one year imprisonment and two years of exile in Sarakhs (a city near the Turkmenistan border) on charges of “propaganda against the regime”.

According to published reports, he was arrested at home by the security forces on August 14th 2025 and transferred to the Intelligence Department’s detention centre. During the arrest, his personal electronic devices, including his computer, mobile phone, camera, and external memory drives, were confiscated.

Reports indicate that Mr Masouri spent his interrogation period in solitary confinement and was then transferred to Parsilon Central Prison in Khorramabad. He also has a previous record of judicial convictions and imprisonment for his political activities.

The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest and continuing harassment of Amin Masouri.
