Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane workers on strike again

Haft Tappeh strikers, December 2017.

Today, Saturday February 3rd, the workers of Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane [complex] were on strike again demanding their unpaid wages, bonuses and productivity bonuses for the years 1394 (2015-16) and 1395 (2016-17), as well as eight months’ bonuses for 1395.

Even though the new employer has taken over the responsibility for settling these demands, these have only stayed as the company management’s empty promises. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the new management has been working with a few strike breakers to prevent the workers’ rightful strike. Fortunately, due to the workers’ consciousness as to the legitimacy of their demands and claims, they were not deceived by management and the scabbing agents.

Long live the workers’ class unity and solidarity.
