Mahshahr petrochemical workers protest against layoffs

A group of sacked Mahshahr petrochemicals workers protested against layoffs on February 17th. Around 30 workers in Mahshahr’s Petroleum Products Distribution Company were sacked over three months ago.

Mahshahr port (Bandar-e Mahshahr) in Khuzestan Province, southern Iran, is a Petrochemicals Special Economic Zone and an important gas and petroleum products centre.

Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the way the Iranian regime has been putting the burden of capitalist collapse on the shoulders of workers through layoffs, low wages, privatisation, casualisation and so on.
