On May Day 2019 Neda Naji went to an International Workers’ Day demonstration outside the Iranian regime’s parliament in Tehran. She was arrested and charged with “conspiracy” and “insulting state officials”. After 300 days, she is still in prison! Imagine going to a May Day demonstration and never going home!
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest, continuing detention and sentencing of Neda Naji and other activists and supporters of the labour movement in Iran and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all workers and activists arrested on May Day 2019. We call on all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, social rights’ activists and political prisoners in Iran.
