On Monday, June 1st, a number of contract workers at the Abadan refinery gathered in front of the refinery’s central building to protest against the violation of their rights and unjustified sackings.
The workers demanded that their job status be established and that they should be given permanent employment contracts. According to the protesters, about 100 workers in the repair and technical unit of phase three of the Abadan refinery are contract workers.
