The following is a short statement published on the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company workers’ independent channel on Telegram. Omid Asadbeigi is the former CEO and Mehrdad Rostami the Chairman of the Board of Haft Tappeh. Both are currently on trial for fraud.
First day of the Haft Tappeh, today, Monday, June 15th 2020
Today, a massive crowd of agricultural workers gathered at the door of the management building and, with workers from other industrial departments joining them, marched into the financial, administrative and mechanical equipment areas and moved towards the factory. As all the workers gathered, they went to the management building again and protested there.
The most important demands of the workers in this gathering are:
Payment of unpaid wages and renewal of insurance booklets.
Reinstatement of all sacked workers.
Asadbeigi to be arrested and Asadbeigi and Rostami to receive life sentences.
Divest the fraudster employer and the private sector.
Return of all embezzled wealth to the workers.
