Haft Tappeh strike: twentieth day

Today, July 4th 2020, is the twentieth day of the latest Haft Tappeh strike. The following is a short statement published on the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company workers’ independent channel on Telegram.

Twentieth day of the Haft Tappeh, today, Saturday, July 4th 2020

On the twentieth day of the Haft Tappeh workers’ strike a group of workers gathered at the Governor’s Office and marched inside Shush town.

The most important demands of the workers are:

Immediate payment of unpaid wages and renewal of insurance booklets.
Immediate reinstatement of all sacked workmates.
Immediate arrest of Asadbeigi and life sentences for Asadbeigi and Rostami.*
Divest Haft Tappeh’s fraudster employer and the private sector.
Return all embezzled wealth to the workers.
End retired managers’ employment.

* Omid Asadbeigi is the former CEO and Mehrdad Rostami the Chairman of the Board of Haft Tappeh. Both are currently on trial for fraud.
