On Sunday November 18th, the fourteenth day of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company workers’ renewed strike and the fifth day of their general protests in Shush, the Iranian regime deployed its riot police and other repression and intelligence goons en masse.
Esmail Bakhshi, Mohammad Khanifar, Mohsen Armand and a female journalist were apprehended and transferred to an unknown place. A further eight to ten workers’ representatives were also arrested and are being held in the Intelligence Police Headquarters of Shush.
We call on all trade unionists and socialists to send solidarity messages in support of all those arrested.
