On June 18th hundreds of pensioners demonstrated outside the Iranian regime’s parliament.
The protesters gathered in central Tehran demanding a rise in their pensions, as inflation and other economic problems continue to erode their real income.
According to the regime’s own laws pensioners should be paid 80 per cent of the wages to employed workers with equivalent qualification. At present the regime is not honouring this legal commitment.
The protesters also demanded that every year workers’ wages and pensions should rise in line with the real inflation rate.
