Iranian oil and petrochemical workers’ strike: day 25

Today, August 25th, is 25th day of the nationwide protest and strike of Iran’s oil, petrochemical industry and power plant workers.

Some contractors have now agreed to the workers’ first demand: payment of unpaid wages and a pay rise. The workers’ wages will now be paid on a weekly basis. However, the striking workers have announced that they will not return to work until all their demands are met.

There are currently fifty-five oil, gas and petrochemical production centres on strike in Iran.
