On May 20th a group of IG Metall union members and supporters of Workers’ Action Committee (Iran) gathered outside Engels-Haus in Wuppertal to show their support for Jafar Azimzadeh and all jailed labour activists in Iran.

Am 9. Mai 2010 wurde Farzad Kamangar – Lehrer, Journalist und Bürgerrechtler – vom Iranischen Regime aufgrund seiner vermeintlichen Mitgliedschaft in der Arbeiterpartei Kurdistans (PKK) ermordet. Andere kurdische politische Gefangene, welche am selben Tag hingerichtet wurden, sind Shirin Alamhouli, Ali Heydarian und Farhad Vakili.

On May 9th 2010 the Iranian regime murdered Farzad Kamangar, a teacher, journalist and civil society activist for alleged membership of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). Other Kurdish political prisoners executed on the same day included Shirin Alamhouli, Ali Heydarian and Farhad Vakili.

On the evening of April 28th Rasoul Bodaghi, a member of the Teachers’ Trade Association, was released from Evin prison.

Rasoul Bodaghi, a member of the Teachers’ Association, is one of the activists arrested during the 2009 protests in Iran. In September 2009 he was sentenced to six years in custody and has been held in prison ever since. In addition to being imprisoned he was banned from any “social activity” for five years. During his time in prison Mr Bodaghi has been repeatedly held in solitary confinement, including a five months’ stretch in 2015.
