Ali Nejati is now in hospital receiving treatment. He was transferred to the cardiac unit of Baghaii Hospital in Ahvaz on Thursday December 13th.
Since the second raid on his home by the Iranian regime’s security forces on November 29th, Mr Nejati has been interrogated and tortured in prison.
Although Ali Nejati, a member of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Workers’ Union’s executive committee, is now a retired worker, and already had a heart condition before his latest arrest, he was beaten during his arrest and has been incarcerated at an undisclosed location.
The responsibility for Ali Nejati’s wellbeing, and that off all those arrested because of strikes and protests, rests with the Iranian regime.
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign calls on all trade unionists and socialists to send solidarity messages in support of all those arrested and demand their immediate and unconditional release.
