At noon on January 16th Mohammad-Reza Nematpour was freed.
Mr Nematpour, a workers at Iran National Steel Industrial Group (INSIG) in Ahvaz, had been in detention for over a month.
At midnight on December 16th 2018 at least 43 steelworkers from National Steel in Ahvaz were arrested by the Iranian regime’s intelligence and security forces and have been in jail since then.
Mr Nematpour’s release leaves just two other steelworkers in jail: Karim Sayahi and Taregh Khalafi. National Steel’s workers have said that if these two of their mates are not released on Saturday January 19th then they will begin new protests in Ahvaz.
