Day twelve of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company workers’ strike.Today, Wednesday, August 29th 2018, the workers from all sections of the of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Company, on the twelfth consecutive of their all-encompassing strike in protest [against] the transfer of the company [to the private sector] and the poor performance of this private sector and some outstanding demands, vowed to continue their strike until the transfer of the company to the state sector or a competent entity.
Adnan Ghazi, the Governor of Shush, after twelve consecutive days of the all-encompassing strike, turned up at the workers’ gathering and made a half-hour speech, repeating the employer’s promises, [and] failed to persuade the workers to end their strike.
