According to news published by various news agencies in Iran Farzad Kamangar, Shirin Alamhouie, Ali Heidarian and Farhad Vakili have been executed. They had been convicted of involvement in “terrorist bombings” and their sentences were carried out on Sunday morning (May 9).
Farzad Kamangar has been a teacher in Kamyaran for 12 years. He had gone to Tehran to follow-up his brother’s medical treatment when he was arrested. His arrest on trumped up charges, subsequent trial and death sentence had not only mobilised exiled labour activists but have also provoked protests in Iranian Kurdistan itself – including a picket by around 300 teachers.
