Internationalist solidarity to Arkan Saless workers
As trade unionists and left activists from Italy we express our solidarity to the Iranian comrade and labor activist Yaser Ahmadinjead. Recently he has been sentenced to 33 months in jail for having defended Arkan Saless workers and asserted their sacrosanct right to organize in their own workplace and to criticize their employer and even public authorities.
We deeply believe that internationalist solidarity among workers across the world is the most effective way to free ourselves from labor exploitation, capitalist oppression and imperialism.

Promoting Committee of the Meeting of Internationalist Forces

As the Promoting Committee of the annual Meeting of Internationalist Forces, which was held in Paris for the fourth time in May, we wish to express our full solidarity with Iranian comrade Yaser Ahmadinejad and all the Arkan Saless workers.
We’ve been informed that Yaser Ahmadinejad has been sentenced to 33 months of prison. He has been found guilty of defending his colleagues and being at the forefront of labour protests over the past years and after being suspended from work for several times and eventually fired, he has been arrested, jailed, and now sentenced to this unacceptable punishment.
Internationalist solidarity among workers across the world is the only weapon we have at our disposal to defeat our bosses, who exploit labor and in times like these, also use our bodies as cannon fodder, as Iranian workers have been experiencing over the past few months. That is why we strongly condemn this attack to the most basic trade union rights of Iranian workers and demand Ahmadinejad’s immediate release.

The Assembly heard a report on the recent sentence for worker Yaser Ahmadinejad. We send our solidarity to Yaser and demand his immediate release!
