Jailed teacher Hamid Rahmati was transferred to the prison infirmary earlier today – the sixth day of his hunger strike.
At the infirmary he refused medication, food and water in protest against his treatment by the prison governor.
Hamid Rahmati is one of many jailed teachers by the Iranian regime. Some of the others are Esmail Abdi, Mohammad Habibi and Mahmoud Beheshti Langeroudi.
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest and continuing detention of Hamid Rahmati and all other teachers in Iran and calls for their immediate and unconditional release. We call on all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, social rights’ activists and political prisoners in Iran.
