Neda Naji sentenced to five and a half years in prison!

On December 4th, Branch 28 of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Court sentenced Neda Naji to five years in prison on conspiracy charges and a further six months for “insulting state officials”.

Neda Naji, one of the dozens of protesters arrested on May Day 2019 outside the Iranian regime’s parliament, has remained in prison since International Workers’ Day – 220 days ago.

The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest, continuing detention and sentencing of Neda Naji and other activists and supporters of the labour movement in Iran and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all workers and activists arrested on May Day 2019. We call on all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, social rights’ activists and political prisoners in Iran.
